Salsa Jazz Connect
For pupils who play brass and woodwind instruments at around Grade 1+ Level and for percussion players, this fun ensemble is full of funky tunes and great performances!

Getting Here:
Labes (Lar-bes) House is most conveniently accessed by public transport.
Directions from Nottingham Railway Station (4-minute walk)
(Trains, all tram routes and bus routes 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,19,20,33,48,49,90,92, N4, Cotgrave, Keyworth, Mainline, and RV all stop here)
From the front of Nottingham Railway Station, cross Carrington Street and head half left. Pass through the small Unity Square, keeping to the left of the large Unity Square building and continue downhill, passing the Castle Rock Brewery and the Vat & Fiddle on your right. You will see Karlsruhe House in front of you, just after Traffic Street. Continue straight on to the end of Karlsruhe House and turn right into its small car park and walk twenty metres. The entrance to Labes House is on your right.
If you arrive by train, please note that the front of the station is accessed via the stairs at the end of the platform. Do not use the footbridge in the middle of the platforms as that will take you to an exit that is further away.
By Car
There is no car parking at Labes House. The most convenient car parks are at Broadmarsh (4-minute walk to the station then above directions) the Station car park (5-minute walk) or RingGo parking on Crocus Street (5-minute walk). Alternatively, all the tram routes from the city park and rides stop at the railway station.

Salsa Jazz will play a wide range of musical styles and have exciting performance opportunities throughout the year. This is a great group for young people to become more confident, make new friends and become better at their instruments. Ensemble Fees
For young people who live in Nottingham City and/or study in a city state school, the annual ensemble fee for 2025-2026 is £60 (£21 concessions). Please note that you only have to pay one annual fee but can be part of more than one Music Hub ensemble (for example, your child may play in RHYO as well as Guitar Connect but just pay the ensemble fee once).
How to make the ensemble fee payment:
Log into Speed Admin to view your charge state. You will need to select ‘pay with card’ where you can then choose the invoice/s you would like to pay. Click ‘go to payment’ and make the payment in Stripe. For any questions, please email info@nottinghammusichub.org.uk
Discount/Financial assistance
Nottingham Music Service is committed to making its activities as inclusive and accessible as possible. We are able to offer discounted rates and support for pupils/families who wish to access our ensembles. For students to be eligible to receive a discounted rate for joining an ensemble they need to have an entitlement of free school meals, not including the universal provision for KS1 students.
For those who don’t meet the criteria above but are experiencing financial difficulty, a reduced ensemble subscription may be applicable. Please see the Subsidy Application document below for more information.
