Upcoming Opportunities around the City
National Youth Orchestra tour to Nottingham
The National Youth Orchestra (NYO) of Great Britain will be touring to Trinity School in Nottingham and Tuxford Academy in Nottinghamshire in September 2018. It is a great opportunity for secondary school students to engage with the NYO and find out more about them.
Workshop & NYO Performance
NYO welcomes secondary school aged musicians who have taken their grade 1 to 8+ exams, and would like to find out more about playing in NYO.
17 September, 2018 @ Trinity School Nottingham for Nottingham schools
18 September, 2018 @ Tuxford Academy, Newark for Nottinghamshire schools
There will be workshops all day from 10:50 AM to 1:50 PM with a break for lunch. NYO will also perform from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
Musicians that participate in this project will have the opportunity to continue their relationship with NYO at a NYO Come and Play event at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham on January 7, 2019 when NYO return to Nottingham.
Deadline to Register
Register your students by July 16, Monday by filling out the online form here. There is a limit of 20 places per school and please know that signing up will not guarantee your place. Nottingham Cathedral Youth Choir
If you love singing in a choir, check out the Cathedral Youth Choir at Nottingham Cathedral. You can join a fantastic community of enthusiastic young people, aged 8 – 18, who travel from parishes across the diocese to sing together in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The rehearsals are led by Ellie Martin and they take place on Fridays, 6-7 PM (during term time) in Cathedral Hall.
