Get Connected

Thank you to everyone who attended Get Connected 2023! We are so proud of all the pupils who took part and delighted that so many families and friends came to see the performance.

Get Connect is a an event we introduced in 2022, especially designed for Year 6 instrumentalists. We introduce many of our small music groups/ensembles, showcasing the different opportunities young people have to make music outside of their school.

The event is designed to motivate and inspire young people to continue their musical learning and join an afterschool group, where they can improve their skills, meet new people and make friends.

At the event, pupils take part in sectionals covering technique development, reading notation and ensembles skills, eventually joining together to perform a piece as a mass ensemble, in a performance alongside other hub ensembles.

Get Connected 2022

Thank you to everyone who attended Get Connected on 15th June, at the NTU Music Centre. We had a fantastic time hearing all our young musicians inspire their younger peers with some amazing music making.

Also, a massive thank you to the wonderful staff at Dovecote Primary, Middleton Primary, Robin Hood, Seely and Walter Halls Primary for bringing your talented pupils to Get Connected. The 29 young musicians did so well learning a piece in just one hour! Well done to our amazing InterConnect, String Folk Connect, Salsa Jazz Connect & Upbeat, Robin Hood Young Voices and Guitar Connect. We got to hear all of them in person and it was brilliant.

We sincerely hope that all young people who attended the event will be going on to join one or more of these ensembles. We look forward to making music with you!
